Part Time Caretaker

Single Status Grade 4 (£17,173 – £17,681 pro-rata)

20 hours per week

Roselands Infant school and Stafford Junior school are both 3 form entry schools which are a 10 minute walk apart in the Bridgemere area of Eastbourne. We are looking for a committed, reliable, adaptable person for a early shift at Stafford Junior school as part of a team. The ideal candidate is friendly and can work well with staff and children, has excellent DIY skills so can carry out a range of small repairs and who will share our pride in our school, wanting it to look it’s very best. Duties will include all aspects of the general maintenance, security, health and safety of the school, including working with the full time federation caretaker who will do the later shift.

The successful candidate will join a friendly and welcoming team of staff in September 2018 and be a valued part of our warm, caring school community.

We are also advertising for the full time federation caretaker who will work across both schools. If you would like your application to be considered for both roles please state this clearly on your application form.

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2009 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2009 Regulations. 

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2009 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.

Full Time Caretaker

We are looking for a committed, reliable, adaptable person who will work across both schools as part of a team. The ideal candidate is friendly and can work well with staff and children, has excellent DIY skills so can carry out a range of small repairs and who will share our pride in our school, wanting it to look it’s very best. Duties will include all aspects of the general maintenance, security, health and safety of the school, including supervision of cleaning staff and working with the early shift caretaker in each school.

The successful candidate will join a friendly and welcoming team of staff in September 2018 and be a valued part of our warm, caring school community.
