On Thursday 8th February, Year 3 enjoyed their ‘Norman Day’ which brought together everything they have learnt through their ‘Brutal Battles’ topic as well as the research the children have done at home. They learnt all about Norman castles and knights, designed their own coats of arms and re-enacted the Battle of Hastings stuck-in-the-mud-style! A highlight of the day was the children sharing their wonderful work which they had completed for home learning – their creations ranged from weapons, armour and castles to powerpoint presentations and information booklets. The Year 3 teachers were very impressed with the effort that went into these!
They have also been busy baking and decorating cakes as part of their Design and Technology topic to link with their work on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
