School Business Manager

The Roselands Stafford Federation is comprised of a three form entry Infant school and a three form entry Junior school situated a ten-minute walk apart and a stone’s throw from the beautiful Eastbourne sea front. The two schools work closely together sharing expertise and good practice and supporting each other to build on their strengths.

The School Business Manager role is a key one for the federation and we are looking for a self-motivated and positive candidate with a “can do” attitude who is used to prioritising a large workload.

As the School Business Manager you will line manage the office and premises staff across the federation and will be a member of the senior leadership teams at both schools.

You will be expected to continue to develop the administration structure to ensure increased efficiency and maximum cost effectiveness for the benefit of the pupils at both schools.

The School Business Manager will be responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and accounting, facilities management and managing the school’s business support functions.

You will be responsible for income generation, financial planning, monitoring and reconciliation of budgets, preparation and reporting of financial returns and accounts to ensure the school operates within budgetary constraints and in accordance with regulatory requirements and timescales.

You will manage the school support staff team ensuring that all recruitment and personnel issues are managed in accordance with regulatory and County Council Schools Personnel policy requirements.

You will be responsible for updating and maintaining the school’s Single Central Register.

You will be responsible for the facilities management of the school, negotiating, managing and monitoring contracts, procurement, tenders and agreements for the provision of services to the school, and ensure the school buildings are maintained and operated in accordance with emergency procedures and Health and Safety requirements.

You will manage the school administrative, communications and ICT functions ensuring pupil records are maintained, and management information, school records and publications are produced within required timescales.
