EYFS had an exciting Book Week with a range of activities and visitors. Each day we spent time reading books of our choice from our library and reading corners. We shared these with friends and talked about which parts we liked and what other stories we knew that were similar. We were visited by Guy Parker-Rees a Brighton based illustrator who taught us how to design a penguin character and Geraldine the Giraffe from “Giraffes Can’t Dance” – we even met her and performed our own dance moves! On Wednesday we saw Charlotte’s Web – a real theatre production and learnt about friendship, self-belief and loss. We enjoyed meeting the actors and looking at the props! On Thursday we dressed up as our favourite Book Characters. We met Rainbow Fish, Highway Rats and Superheroes from all sorts of stories! We couldn’t believe it when a real life princess came in to our classes and told us all about her friends. She taught us how to ballroom dance and sing some songs from fairytales. Finally we met Sue Hendra and Paul Linnett, the authors of one of our favourite books “Supertato”. We completed super missions and heard about Cake – the real – life cake who had to escape a party before he turned in to cake crumbs!
